| The Marble
Mountains near Danang (overlooking China Beach) is made up of five
mountains. The inside of Thuy Son (above) contains a number of caves
converted into Buddhist sanctuaries. |

One of the oldest and most
important historic places in Vietnam which became a reilgious center in the
4th century. During the Vietnam War, American bombing destroyed
much of is as Viet Cong guerrillas used this as a base. |

Founded in 1687 Hue served as the country's capital from 1802 to 1945.
From my perspective the most interesting cities seen. Home to the
tombs of the Nguyen Emperors and the Forbidden Purple City which is the
historical center. Running through the city is the scenic
Perfume River (left). |
